Mark
Owen is a master craftsman in
wood, and a working actor living in in the village of East Chezzetcook, Nova Scotia.
Mark lives surrounded by trees and ocean;
which provide both the material and the inspiration for his other creative
love -- rustic furniture.
In my life here I have hooked many salmon,
kayaked the ocean and canoed many rivers. I have built 2 log
homes; my first at 19 years of age - and to this day I
still share that special place with friends. It is nature that
is my inspiration - I don't create the furniture ... nature
defines the piece.
My furniture is built using the "Mortise and
Tenon" method of joinery. I guarantee my work to be of the
highest quality. My slabs are air dried for several years to
ensure minimal checking and warping. My love of nature is
reflected in my work and it is nature that gives me my work. Let
me share this with you.
Regards - Mark Owen
Welcome to my home on the web. My
family has been in Nova Scotia, "New Scotland", for over a hundred
years - having emigrated from Wales and Scotland. Most of my life
has been spent exploring, living and breathing in this beautiful
place.
Nova Scotia is an oasis of woods, waters, trees and nature. I am an avid fly
fisherman and outdoorsman spending as much time as humanly
possible hiking and exploring the rich and fertile lands of
Nova Scotia.
